Frequently asked questions.

How much does a tattoo cost?

Our artists have the ability to use their own discretion on pricing, therefore the prices may vary depending on size, placement, detail, style, etc. The best way is to find an artist you like and contact them directly or stop by the shop for a more accurate quote. Keep in mind that the shop minimum is 60 dollars.

Are walk ins welcome?

Absolutely, we will try our best to accommodate you. We can’t guarantee we can get you in immediately due to availability and possible prep time for bigger pieces, but we will do right by you any way we can.

How do I make an appointment?

The artists here do their own scheduling, so contacting them directly is the best way to make an appointment. We do require a deposit to reserve a spot and deposits vary, depending on who you choose. Deposits are also NON-REFUNDABLE. You may also stop by to check out portfolios and speak with them in person.

How do I care for my new tattoo?

Remove bandage (unless your artist has applied Saniderm or a like product), 1 - 2 hours after leaving the tattoo shop and wash gently but thoroughly with an unscented soap. Use your hands to wash tattoo. Do not scrub with a washcloth or sponge.

Your tattoo needs to breathe to speed healing. Do not apply a bandage unless you are using Saniderm or another long term anaerobic dressing.

Do not use petroleum jelly based products, alcohol, or peroxide.

Do not pick, scratch, or remove scabs.

Do not expose to prolonged UV light, sunlight, or submerse tattoo in water for 2 weeks. This includes baths, swimming pools, or saunas. Avoid gardening and excessive contact with animals. Salt water and chlorine act as a bleach and can ruin your tattoo. Too much water submersion can cause maceration of the skin and can damage your tattoo. The healing process usually takes between 2 - 3 weeks, but can vary.

IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF INFECTION OCCUR, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, REDNESS, SWELLING, TENDERNESS OF PROCEDURE SITE, RED STREAKS FROM THE PROCEDURE SITE TOWARDS THE HEART, ELEVATED BODY TEMPERATURE, OR PURULENT DRAINAGE FROM THE PROCEDURE SITE, CONTACT A PHYSICIAN OR AN URGENT CARE FACILITY.

THE TATTOO IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY ONCE YOU LEAVE THE SHOP. PLEASE CALL THE SHOP (559) 475-0096 IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS.

Can I bring a friend?

Although we don’t mind you having a friend or family member accompany you, we do ask you limit it to one due to space and capacity.

What is Saniderm and how it different?

Saniderm is a breathable bandage that stays on the tattoo for 3 to 7 days. It has become increasingly popular in recent years for how easy it makes aftercare, but it is not for everybody. We can put Saniderm or conventional cling wrap on you, whichever you’d prefer. People who have tried Saniderm reported no scabbing or flaking, but the bandage does fill up with bodily fluids, so keep that in mind.

Using everyday cleaners and moisturizers as a substitute for tattoo aftercare carries risks with it. And, while they’re effective for many other things, everyday products were never designed with tattoos in mind. Lotions are a common vehicle for bacteria, which can cause allergic reactions, infections, and scabbing; and antibacterial soap can dry out the tattoo and cause bleeding, scabbing, and fading of color. Additionally, antibacterial ointments can cause allergic reactions, discoloration, and excessive oozing. Petroleum-based products contain no direct healing agents at all, and may even drain color.

“So, what makes Saniderm better?

Using Saniderm means there is no need to worry about greasy lotions or ointments staining your bed sheets or fussing about your furry friend lovingly brushing up against your fresh tattoo. You won’t have to tote around a mild antibiotic soap and ointments so you can hit a bathroom every few hours to wash and reapply in order to prevent your tattoo drying out. Saniderm takes the “oops” out of tattoo healing.”
